In RED
The audiovisual installation In Red is the object that stays in the space after the performance. It can be presented as a single object or with a performance.
The audiovisual performance In Red invites its audience to embark on a visceral and thought-provoking journey of transformation, pain, trauma, and rebirth using familiar objects such as a meat grinder and various metallic items. In Red explores the concept of the meat grinder as a metaphor for the brutal and painful process through which objects, and perhaps individuals, are ground down to their essence, only to re-emerge in a new and altered form. This powerful symbolism resonates throughout the performance, which seamlessly blends sculpture, visual art, music, installation, and live performance.
Upon entering the space, attendees experience the reverberations of their initial steps on the imposing metallic stairs, creating shockwaves throughout the room in harmony with the composed soundscape.
At the core of In Red, a performer operates an amplified meat grinder, while composed music further delves into the metallic theme, echoing the brutal process of meat grinding.
The performance reaches its climax with a haunting scream, offering an intense release of pent-up emotions and a poignant portrayal of suffering and resilience. The white shirt worn by the performer is embroidered with lifelike wounds, and post-scream, it transforms into a canvas for a video projection that visually represents the process of transformation and healing that follows pain.
